Akiko Suzuki thanks Japan Skates readers for their support and words of encouragement!

Our correspondent Aiko, from Pigeon Post in Japan, interviewed Akiko Suzuki backstage at "Dreams on Ice" in Japan on June 25.  The full transcript from the interview is coming soon!

Gregg and I asked Aiko to congratulate Akiko on her excellent season and to tell her that she is an inspiration for many of our readers.

Here is a translation of Akiko's response.

"Thank you all for cheering me anytime, anywhere. Your encouragement gives me energy and power - that is my motivation for skating.

"I guess you give me a boost as if it's sunlight - so I am the moon, illuminated by you...  That is... your sunlight is necessary for me, as coaches, family, and friends have supported me to get me forward.

"I hope I've shined on the ice; I hope to be shining at my best on the ice.  I have given it my all.  I much appreciate your keeping touch with me!"
